Rösle- the Apple CORER of our eye

Although it is late into apple season, for us apple pie season never ends. So, we have been coring apples to store in our freezer! The fruit corer we love is our new discovery, the Rösle.

We have been testing this kitchen helper since December. It is easy to hold, easy to use, and can core an apple or pear with one twist. It is basically a long, sharp 18/10 stainless steel cylinder with a sharp serrated front ring. This narrow dishwasher safe tool easily cores fruit, and because of its shape is easily stored. This is a perfect tool to buy now, since apples and pears are in so many kosher for Passover baking recipes.   roslefruitcorer

And,we are going to give it a try on pineapple too.  Now, how we wish that we could find a peach stoner – since the southern peach season will soon be approaching! Anyone have a peachy suggestion?

Dining in Again

By Yeshiva Masoras Avos

This is what we would term a “heimishe” community cookbook – a helpful resource for traditional recipes, as well as recipes appropriate for Shabbos and Yom Tov. What makes this book quite unique is that in addition to containing over 550 recipes, the appropriate bracha (prayer) to recite when eating the prepared recipe is actually printed on each page. What a beautiful and appropriate combination –  food and food for thought.  Dining in Again is a publication benefitting Yeshiva Masoras Avos, Lakewood, New Jersey. For some sample recipes, or to order, visit DiningInAgain.com or order on Dining in Again. We understand that if the book is ordered through the Yeshiva website, a special 100 page Passover insert may be included, depending on availability.
